Privacy Policy

Respecting and protecting customer privacy is vital to our business. Keeping customer information secure is a priority at First Heritage Credit, and we want you to fully understand what information we may gather about you and how/when we can share it. This Online Privacy Policy explains how we will handle your personal information (known as “nonpublic personal information”), and how we will use that information to serve you better.

The link at the bottom of this page will direct you to First Heritage Credit’s most recent summary Online Privacy Policy entitled “WHAT DOES FIRST HERITAGE CREDIT DO WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?” The “revised date” for the Online Privacy Policy is located in the upper, right-hand corner of the document. This will allow you to check and compare the on-line version to your hard copy and ensure you have the most up-to-date version. We ask you to thoroughly review the Online Privacy Policy and to contact us should you have any questions.

Once you become a customer of First Heritage Credit, we will provide you with a Online Privacy Policy describing our privacy practices related to the collection and sharing of personal information about our customers, as required by law.

Information Collected

We collect personal information about you from the information you provide (or is provided to us on your behalf) on applications and other forms, such as your name, address, telephone number, employer, and income. We also collect information about your transactions with us (such as account balances and payment histories), as well as information from consumer reporting agencies and other creditors.

How First Heritage Credit uses the information collected

We use the personal information we collect to process your request for services, products or information, to improve our customer service and products, and/or to mail you information about our products and services. We may also use the information we collect for analytical purposes, such as internal market research or internal marketing purposes, as allowed by law.

How and when First Heritage Credit shares the information collected

We restrict the personal information we share and the parties with whom we share it. We may share information within the First Heritage Credit branch network. Each First Heritage Credit branch/office must adhere to the same standards and terms of our Online Privacy Policy, Privacy Statement, and applicable law.

We may share some information for your benefit as authorized by you. We may also share some information with vendors or third parties for our everyday business purposes or to provide you with account services. In those cases, the companies are first required to sign confidentiality agreements and may only use the information to complete their specific task(s).

We may provide information to other creditors who seek information necessary to process a transaction you have requested or authorized. We may also disclosure your information as otherwise permitted or required by law, such as in response to a court summons or subpoena, to a consumer reporting agency in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”), or when required by governmental agencies.

We do not share your personal information with, or sell it to, any outside companies for their own use.

How First Heritage Credit protects the information collected

We take many steps to safeguard your personal and account information. We restrict access to your personal information to those employees who have a legitimate business need to have access to it in order to provide services or products to you. All of our employees sign confidentiality agreements and are expected to protect our customers’ personal information as strongly as they would their own. We provide ongoing policy and procedure training for our employees. And, we maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards designed to restrict access to files where customers’ personal information might be stored. We are required to keep customer information for specific periods of time under state and/or federal law. Once that time period has passed, the information is shredded or otherwise destroyed.

“Opt-out” rights

Pursuant to the FCRA, customers may exercise their right to restrict the use of certain personal information in accordance with the FCRA. However, we want you to understand that, even if you elect to opt-out, the law permits, and business needs necessitate, us to share certain customer information. Additional information regarding “opt-out” rights may be found in our Privacy Notice, which can be accessed by clicking the link at the bottom of the page.

We reserve the right to modify or supplement this Online Privacy Policy or the linked Privacy Statement. If and when we make material changes, we will update the information and link on our website in a timely manner and notify you of the new policy in accordance with applicable law.
